DINANT strengthens its Ergonomics program launching its second Back and Shoulder School
Dinant announced the launching of its Back and Shoulder School at its Sahara food plant, located in San Sebastian, Comayagua, in order to strengthen the Ergonomics Program, offering preventive therapies aimed at strengthening force in the back and shoulders of its workers.
The school is completely equipped with the necessary resources to bring effective preventive therapies and has received the support and certification of the Honduran Social Security Institute (IHSS by its Spanish acronym). Dinan has an Occupational Health Area managed by qualified physicians and nurses who supervise the different health programs.
Sindy Zelaya, manager of Occupational Health at DINANT mentioned “The back and shoulder school is an initiative supported by the IHSS, who has trained our medical personnel to give therapies on our premises. We have a continuous commitment to the health and well-being of our employees. By offering preventive therapies, we pretend to reduce the incidence of occupational diseases related to poor posture, lifting loads and repetitive movements.”
Ergonomics, the study of optimization of work environments to improve efficiency and prevent injuries, is basic in the school´s approach. Poor ergonomics may cause several health problems, due to it is vital for companies to prioritize wellness in the workplace.
The Back and Shoulder school will play a vital role in the promotion of a healthy work environment and the reduction of work injuries among our employees.
